Google Chrome is one of the world’s most popular web browsers. It arrived several years ago and easily conquered the world dethroning long-standing browsers in the process. Nowadays, most of the solutions are based on Chromium, which happens to be the core of Google Chrome. So in the end, Google Chrome rules them all. The standard browser is the favorite choice of many users across the world, but for some, it is there just to eat huge amounts of RAM. Well, there are still good solutions that offer competition to Chrome. We can cite Mozilla’s Firefox, the latest Edge, Vivaldi, and Opera GX. As per a new report, it seems that Amazon is ready to deploy its own web browser.
The market of web browsers is not crowded enough to stop Amazon from bringing its own browser. According to a recent survey, it seems that the giant of e-commerce, and a leading force in services, is working on its own browser. Worth noting that this is not the old Silk, but something totally new. The survey has been sent to some users over the past couple of days and teases the arrival of an all-new browser.
A NEW SURVEY SENT BY AMAZON HIGHLIGHTS POSSIBLE FEATURES OF ITS BROWSER
The questionnaire aims to help Amazon to understand what would convince someone to download and try out a new browser. This is not an easy task, after all, some users are very resistant to trying new browsers, and things are harder for an all-new browser. Of course, this does not confirm an imminent launch but suggests that work is being made under wraps. We don’t think that Amazon would go pushing surveys if it did not start to work on something. The browser probably has its skeleton ready, and the company is trying to see which features are more important for users.

Discover – Google is bringing Magic Eraser to every smartphone
In the survey, Amazon states that those completing it will help with innovation. These innovations have the potential to improve the browsing experience for millions.
Worth noting that the world of web browsers is not something new for Amazon. The giant of e-commerce tried its luck way back in 2011 with Silk. It was a limited browser with a focus on the company’s other products. Now, it seems that the brand is ready to deploy a full-fledged alternative to Google Chrome and its likes. The survey touch on some interesting points like Syncing, Privacy, Shopping options, Text Speech, Extensions, and Blocking third-party trackers. Well, these are pretty much mandatory things on a browser that wants to try its luck. The latest one, however, seems to be unique to Amazon’s upcoming browser. So, if the browser already has all these features, then it may be able to stand with the competition.
THERE IS NO FORECAST FOR THE LAUNCH OF THIS BROWSER
While the survey mentions notebook and laptop environments, we know that an app might also be considered. After all, nowadays the largest part of users access the web through mobile devices. If Amazon wants to make a profit, then it will need to look at the mobile.

We will wait for further news about this possible Amazon Browser. For now, the better thing is to wait and don’t hold your breath. Just like Google does with Chrome, we can expect Amazon to offer deep integration with its services. The browser may also be a good way to push certain services that are not widely known by users. Besides the e-commerce platform, Music and Prime Video, the company is also a giant in web services.
One question that certainly will be pushing speculation is whether Amazon will make it from scratch or will use Chromium. Time will tell.
