Grand Theft Auto 6 seems to have changed the appearance of a character that appeared in its original trailer, and fans are taking notice. While GTA 6 hasn’t provided an exact reason for the change, it may be due to a claim that was made after the release of the original trailer.
Grand Theft Auto fans are more than eager to get their hands on the upcoming game, but unfortunately, GTA 6‘s release date has been pushed back to 2026. This obviously came as a disappointment to many fans who have already been waiting years for the game to launch. However, the delay was also met with some understanding, as the graphical difference between the two GTA 6 trailers was noticeable, indicating that improvement was still being made to the title.

GTA 6 Fans Think They’ve Found Another Character’s Actor
While Rockstar has yet to confirm it, Grand Theft Auto 6 fans believe they’ve discovered the actor behind one of the game’s most prominent characters.
Now, GTA 6 fans and channels like GTAVI_Countdown have discovered that a certain NPC that was present in both trailers has had his appearance changed. The character’s name is currently unknown, but he’s had a brief appearance in both videos. In the original, the character greets a friend, while in the second GTA 6 trailer, the same character can be seen posing for the camera with another NPC. While his outfit has largely stayed the same, alterations have been made to the character’s hair and facial hair, and his accessories have changed, with his sunglasses now having a different style, more translucent lenses, and an added backwards cap.
What’s So Special About This Grand Theft Auto 6 NPC?
This character in particular seems to have undergone a bit of a redesign, and some believe it’s due to accusations that came out after the first GTA 6 trailer launched. When the NPC was first revealed with his original appearance, TikToker zoeepoppyy uploaded a video claiming that the NPC was based upon him, with a fairly strong resemblance between the two demonstrated in his video. Zoeepoppyy alleged that the character was clearly a copy of him and used the video as an open message to Rockstar Games that the studio might as well give the NPC his name, and stated, “GTA. I need my money, man,” indicating that he wanted compensation for the alleged use of his likeness.
Many believe that Rockstar changed the appearance of the NPC and made sure to include his revised look in the newest trailer to avoid any claims of likeness. However, Rockstar has also created parodies of real people in the past, so it’s not clear if this is actually the case. It’s not the first time that it’s received such accusations, either, with the so-called Florida Joker making similar claims about the first GTA 6 trailer, and Rockstar facing a lawsuit from Lindsey Lohan, who alleged that a piece of GTA 5 character art was based off of her. Lohan, notably, ultimately lost that battle.
