Fresh off of absolutely demolishing the box office, Ryan Coogler’s vampire bloodbath Sinners is finally heading to Digital next week, with a physical media release to follow the month after.
The R-rated horror hits Digital on June 3 via Warner Bros., with a Steelbook, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD dropping on July 8.
In Sinners, Michael B. Jordan stars as troubled twin brothers Smoke and Stack, who return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back.
Alongside Jordan, Hailee Steinfeld (Bumblebee, True Grit), newcomer Miles Caton, Jack O’Connell (Eden Lake, the upcoming 28 Years Later), Wunmi Mosaku (His House, Deadpool & Wolverine), Li Jun Li (Babylon), Jayme Lawson (The Woman King), Omar Benson Miller (True Lies) and Delroy Lindo (Da 5 Bloods) all give some of the best performances of the year in an ensemble cast.
Special features on the releases include:
- Dancing with the Devil: The Making of Sinners – Journey with director Ryan Coogler as he makes his most personal and powerful film yet (32:35)
- Thicker than Blood: Becoming the Smokestack Twins – Michael B. Jordan and Ryan Coogler take us through the development, creation and portrayal of the Smokestack Twins (10:45)
- Blues in the Night: The Music of Sinners – Composer Ludwig Göransson explores the musical landscape of the film (13:44)
- The Wages of Sin: The Creature FX of Sinners – Creature Makeup FX Designer Mike Fontaine reveals the secrets behind the supernatural horrors and gore effects used throughout the film (10:51)
- Spirits in the Deep South – Prof. Yvonne Chireau explores the backdrop of Hoodoo in the deep south and how its beliefs and traditions inform the film (7:58)
- Deleted Scenes (18:41)
The release also comes with two distinct aspect ratios as it was shot with, 1.43:1 (IMAX 70mm) and 2.76:1 (Ultra Panavision 70), so you can get your eyeballs stuffed full of that iconic musical breakdown, as Coogler and DoP Autumn Durald Arkapaw intended.
In our glowing review, BJ Colangelo calls Sinners a sweaty, sexy blood-soaked success, which currently stands as Coogler’s magnum opus. After racking up over $200 million domestically, the film stands as one of the highest-grossing horror movies of all-time.
