Key Takeaways
- McDonald’s has finally confirmed a date for its most-requested discontinued menu item to return.
- The beloved menu item is coming back to restaurants in just a little over a month.
It’s been years since McDonald’s customers have been able to go through the drive-thru, roll down the window of their car, and drive away with what many McD’s fans think is the ultimate handheld—the Snack Wrap. McDonald’s removed its Snack Wrap from the majority of its menus in 2016, then fully discontinued it in 2020, and fans have been begging for it to return ever since.
At the end of last year, the president of McDonald’s USA, Joe Erlinger, let it slip on “Good Morning America” that the beloved Snack Wraps would return sometime in 2025, but he didn’t give a specific date, leaving fans—who seem to be unable to find joy without crispy chicken strips wrapped in a tortilla—in agonizing suspense.
We got one step closer when Mickey D’s brought back the key ingredient needed to make its Snack Wraps—the chicken tenders—in early May, when the chain reintroduced McCrispy Strips. Now, after nine years of waiting, McDonald’s has finally confirmed when Snack Wraps are hitting menus again.
McDonald’s Snack Wraps Are Returning in July
McDonald’s Snack Wraps are headed back to its restaurants on July 10, the brand confirmed on Instagram.
In just a little over a month, you can once again have your hands on the wrap filled with crispy chicken, shredded cheese, lettuce, and your choice of sauce. McDonald’s also announced it’s bringing the Snack Wrap back in two varieties: Spicy and Ranch.
McDonald’s
The Spicy Snack Wrap features a the same habanero Spicy Pepper Sauce found on the Spicy McCrispy sandwich, while the Ranch Snack Wrap is topped with—you guessed it—ranch dressing.
McDonald’s had originally teased that the fan-favorite menu item would return on “0x.14.2025.” so it seems we’re getting the Snack Wraps back earlier than expected.
“Also I got my boss to bring it back earlier for you. snack wrap is available 07.10,” McDonald’s titled its Instagram post.
The news comes just a day after Popeyes announced it’s adding Chicken Wraps to its menu this summer. Did the competition light a fire under McDonald’s? Maybe, but honestly, anything that gets the Snack Wrap back in our lives as quickly as possible is fine by us.
We know some of you Snack Wrap fans may have unresolved anger towards McDonald’s after it suddenly pulled the Snack Wrap from its menu in 2016. But, there’s no need to worry, as Mickey D’s has confirmed that—like the McCrispy Strips—the Snack Wraps are here to stay.
This is it: the countdown to our first Snack Wrap in nine years is officially on!
